The Order of the Eastern Star: A Social and Charitable Organization
In 1850, Dr. Rob Morris established the Order of the Eastern Star to share Masonic values with the entire family. It is a social fraternal organization, whose membership is open to both men, who are Masons, and women, who have a direct relation to a Masonic member.
The organization annually elects a Most Worthy Grand Matron and Most Worthy Grand Patron that serve the council. The local chapter of OES is led by Ester White.
OES promotes and fosters its members in a spiritual-based atmosphere and is open to all faiths. The chapter enjoys fellowship among its members during weekly meetings and fundraisers.
The OES raises money for several charities including ones that focus on medical research such as Cancer, Arthritis, and Pulmonary. The OES also support Masonic related charaties such as the Knights Templar Eye Foundation and the Shriners' Hospital for Children.
